1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They help the site remember things — like whether you're logged in, your preferences, or items you've viewed. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is being used.
2. Cookies we use
Essential cookies
These are required for Businest to function. You can't disable them without breaking parts of the site.
- Session — keeps you logged in while you browse.
- CSRF token — protects forms from cross-site request forgery.
- Cookie preferences — remembers which cookie categories you've consented to.
Functional cookies
These remember preferences to make the site nicer to use, but the site still works without them.
- Location — remembers the city you last filtered listings by.
- Recently viewed — remembers listings you've recently looked at.
Analytics cookies
These help us understand how the site is used — which pages are popular, where people get stuck — so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and we don't try to identify individuals.
- Google Analytics (if enabled in our settings) — measures site usage.
Marketing cookies
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we ever do, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
3. Third-party cookies
Some features (e.g. embedded Google Maps, embedded YouTube videos, OAuth sign-in) may set cookies from third parties when you interact with them. We don't control those cookies — see the relevant third party's policy.
4. How to control cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- In your browser — every modern browser lets you block, delete, or limit cookies. Look in Settings → Privacy.
- Per category — when we add an opt-in banner (coming soon), you'll be able to choose which categories of cookies you accept.
- Do Not Track — we respect Do Not Track signals where technically feasible.
Note: blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site (e.g. you won't be able to stay logged in).
5. Changes
If we change which cookies we use, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
