Do I need an account to browse and contact vendors?
No — you can browse the directory and view full vendor profiles without an account. To save shortlists, send quote requests, or follow up on conversations, you'll need a free buyer account (no credit card required).
Can I send the same quote request to multiple vendors?
Yes. Save vendors to your shortlist, then "Send to all" with a single project brief. Each vendor receives the request individually and replies directly to you — Businest never sees the contents of your conversation.
How long does vendor verification take?
Verification typically completes in 3 business days. The first call happens within 24 hours of applying. If your business is well-documented (registration, references, sample work ready), it can finish in 48 hours. Fast-track verification is available as an add-on.
What happens if a vendor stops being responsive?
Pro-tier vendors commit to responding within their stated SLA (2-4 hours typically). If a vendor's response time degrades or they go inactive, their search ranking drops automatically. Persistent unresponsiveness leads to losing the EMY Verified shield.
Can I leave a review after a project completes?
Yes — and we encourage it. Reviews can only come from buyers who've contacted the vendor through Businest, which prevents fake reviews. The vendor can reply publicly to your review; if there's a factual dispute, our team mediates.
Is my data secure?
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We're POPIA-compliant (South Africa) and Ghana DPA-compliant. Your project briefs are visible only to you and the vendor you sent them to — Businest staff cannot read message contents. We never sell user data.
